Arsenal knocked out of FA Cup by Sunderland

Sunderland avenge League defeat by Gunners to book quarter-final place

Richardson's shot took a deflection of Sebastien Squillaci past goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

Sunderland 1-0 Arsenal

Sunderland avenged their 2-1 Barclays Premier League defeat by Arsenal last week by knocking the north Londoners out of the FA Cup.

Kieran Richardson put the hosts in front with a deflected shot from the edge of the penalty area in the 40th minute.

And another unfortunate deflection saw Arsenal concede their second goal as Sebastian Larsson's shot rolled over the touchline via Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's attempted goalline clearance 12 minutes from full-time.
The victory sees Sunderland join fellow Barclays Premier League clubs Everton and Bolton in the quarter-final draw.
